TESCO still supplies and repairs
and supports manual watt hour testing with Artificial Loads and
Burdens (Load Box) with current capacities of up to 50 A. Most
instruments are designed as general use and suitable for field
use.
Currently in development is a Light Weight Artificial Load capable
of 20A to meet the needs of the modern test programs.
Application: Typically the Artificial Load (Burden) is combined
with a Test Standard, (TESCO offers RADIAN), then requires only
a 120VAC supply and can, depending on model chosen accurately
test both primary and transformer rated watt hour meters.
