The Catalog 1044D Current Transformer Field Test Set is a simple and inexpensive means whereby a current transformer installation may be quickly checked for many sources of trouble. The tests are made without interrupting the Customer’s service and while the load is on.

The instrument features a digital LED meter for displaying the CT secondary current.

Extensive precautions have been taken in the design so that there will be a continuous and closed path in the watthour meter current circuit at all times, and the secondary of the current transformer will not be opened by accident.

APPLICATIONS

The Current Transformer Field Test Set is used for detecting the following sources of trouble in any C.T. installation.

1. Short circuited primary turns on C.T.
2. Short circuited secondary turns on C.T.
3. High resistance joints or connections in the C.T. secondary circuit.
4. Short circuited secondary wiring.
5. Customer tampering.
6. Grounding of normal ungrounded wire.
7. Grounding of secondary winding when mounted on grounded structure.

• Switches for ANSI values of 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0 & 8.0 ohms. Non-standard burden values can be derived by using a combination of different switches to a maximum of 15.8 ohms.
